Removal and Installation

NOTE: For parts identification and location, refer to SEAT - EXPLODED VIEW, FRONT, CENTER  .
  1. Remove the seat. For additional information, refer to SEAT - FRONT, CENTER  .
  2. Remove the rear cupholder.
    • Remove the 2 rear cupholder screws.
    • If equipped, disconnect the power point electrical connector.
  3. Remove the LH side shield.
    • Remove the 2 LH side shield screws.
    • Release the pin-type retainer.
  4. Remove the backrest latch cover.
  5. Remove the backrest stop bolt.
    • To install, tighten to 18 Nm (159 lb-in).
  6. Remove the backrest pivot bolt.
    • To install, tighten to 45 Nm (33 lb-ft).
  7. Remove the safety belt anchor bolt.
    • To install, tighten to 45 Nm (33 lb-ft).
  8. Remove the 2 backrest latch upper bolts and backrest.
    • To install, tighten to 60 Nm (44 lb-ft).
    9. NOTE: Before installation, make sure the safety belt webbing is not twisted and the safety belts and buckles are accessible to the occupants.
  9. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
