Removal and Installation

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, REFER to JACKING & LIFTING .
Disconnect the battery. For additional information, REFER to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
Rotate the accessory drive belt tensioner counter counterclockwise and position the accessory drive belt aside.
Remove the bolt and the accessory drive belt tensioner.
- To install, tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).

Position the generator B+ protective boot aside, remove the B+ terminal nut and position the B+ terminal aside.
- To install, tighten to 17 Nm (150 lb-in).
Disconnect the generator electrical connector.
Remove the upper generator bolt.
- To install, tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).
Remove the lower generator bolt and the generator.
- To install, tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
