Oil Cooler: Removal

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, REFER to JACKING & LIFTING .
Remove and discard the engine oil filter.
Using hose clamp pliers, clamp the 2 oil cooler coolant hoses.
- Disconnect the 2 coolant hoses from the oil cooler.

NOTE: If metal or aluminum material is present in the oil cooler, mechanical concerns exist. Failure to correct these concerns may cause engine failure. To diagnose mechanical concerns, REFER to ENGINE SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION .

Remove the oil cooler threaded insert and the oil cooler.
