Module Network Input Messages - EPB Module

| Accelerator pedal position | PCM | This message is sent to the GWM and then to the EPB module. This message informs the EPB module of the current position of the accelerator pedal, 0-100% and is used for the parking brake automatic release feature. |
| ABS active | ABS module | This message informs the EPB module an anti-lock brake event is taking place. The rear brake calipers cannot be used by the parking brake system during an anti-lock brake event. |
| Brake pedal applied | PCM | This message is sent to the GWM and then to the EPB module. This message informs the EPB module whether the brake pedal is current applied or released. |
| Driven wheel propulsion torque | PCM | This message is sent to the GWM and then to the EPB module. This message provides the EPB module of the current amount of propelling torque being applied to the driven wheels. |
| Driver door ajar status | BCM | This message is sent to the GWM and then to the EPB module. This message informs the EPB module the driver door status, closed or open, which is used for the parking brake automatic release feature. |
| Electronic parking brake allowed | ABS module | This message informs the EPB module of the current ABS module parking brake status, active or inactive. |
| Engine RPM | PCM | This message is sent to the GWM and then to the EPB module. This message informs the EPB module of the current engine RPM and is used for the parking brake automatic release feature. |
| Gear lever position | PCM | This message is sent to the GWM and then to the EPB module. This message informs the EPB module of the current gear selector lever position which is used for the parking brake automatic release feature. |
| Ignition status | BCM | This message is sent to the GWM and then to the EPB module. This message informs the EPB module of the current ignition status; off, accessory, run, start, invalid or unknown. |
| Odometer master value | IPC | This message is sent to the GWM and then to the EPB module. The message provides the EPB module with the current odometer value. |
| Traction control system active | ABS module | This message informs the EPB module traction control event is taking place. The rear brake calipers cannot be used by the parking brake system during an traction control event. |
| Vehicle configuration data | BCM | This message is sent to the GWM and then to the EPB module. This message provides the EPB module with the current optional and configured items such as tire size, axle ratio, keyless entry and VIN. |
| Vehicle longitudinal acceleration | RCM | This message informs the EPB module of the current vehicle longitudinal acceleration and is used for the automatic release feature, system testing and driver warnings. |
| Wheel rotation count | ABS module | This message provides the EPB module with the number of rotations of the left and right rear wheels. The EPB module uses this information to confirm vehicle movement for the parking brake automatic release feature and for system testing purposes. |
| Wheel speed | ABS module | This message provides the EPB module with the current speed of all 4 wheels. The EPB module uses this information to confirm vehicle movement for the automatic release and for system testing purposes. |
