Removal and Installation

  1. Remove the wheel and tire. For additional information, refer to WHEELS AND TIRES .
  2. Disconnect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector.
  3. Remove the wheel speed sensor harness-to-radius arm bolt.
    • To install, tighten to 15 Nm (133 lb-in).

  4. Remove the 2 wheel speed sensor harness-to-axle bolts.
    • To install, tighten to 15 Nm (133 lb-in).

  5. Remove the wheel speed sensor harness-to-wheel knuckle bolt.
    • To install, tighten to 15 Nm (133 lb-in).
  6. Remove the 8 wheel extension nuts and the wheel extension.
    • To install, tighten to 176 Nm (130 lb-ft).
  7. NOTE: Do not allow the brake caliper to hang from the brake hose or damage to the hose can occur.
  8. Remove the 2 caliper anchor plate bolts and position the caliper assembly aside.
    • Support the caliper using mechanic's wire.
    • To install, tighten to 400 Nm (295 lb-ft).
  9. Remove the brake disc.
  10. Remove the 4 nuts and the wheel bearing and wheel hub.
    • Discard the nuts.
    • To install, tighten the new nuts to 180 Nm (133 lb-ft).
  11. Remove the brake disc shield.
  12. Remove the wheel speed sensor bolt and the sensor.
    • To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
  13. Remove and discard the O-ring.

  14. Position the wheel bearing and wheel hub in a vise with protective caps and remove the 4 studs using 2 mounting nuts.

  15. NOTE: Make sure that the wheel hub and brake disc mounting surfaces are clean and free of foreign material or excessive runout and/or vibration may occur.
  16. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
