Removal and Installation

NOTE:
SuperCab and Crew Cab vehicles with short bed frames shown in illustration, all other frame lengths similar.
- Release the tension on the parking brake system. For additional information, refer to Parking Brake Cable Tension Release .
- Separate the parking brake cables at the parking brake equalizer.
- Remove the wire form bracket bolts from the frame rail and release the conduit from the frame guides.
- To install, tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
- Remove the parking brake cable bracket bolt from the differential bracket.
- To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
- Remove the parking brake cable bracket bolt from the lower shock mount.
- To install, tighten to 20 Nm (177 lb-in).
- Release the parking brake cable from the RH bracket assembly.
- Rotate the cable 90 degrees to release it from the parking brake actuating lever and remove the cable.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
NOTE:
Only the F450 pick-up model uses 3 frame-mounted wire form brackets. All other F-Super Duty models, including F450 chassis cab, use 2 wire form brackets.
