Transmission Range (TR) Sensor: Installation

- Install the park pawl actuator rod in the TR sensor.
- Position the TR sensor and park pawl actuator rod in the transmission case. Push the park pawl up and install the park pawl actuator rod. Align the TR sensor with the detent spring pin and position the TR sensor in place.

- Install the manual shaft in the TR sensor and align the roll pin hole.

- Using a suitable tool, install a new manual shaft-to-TR sensor roll pin.
- Tighten the TR sensor detent spring bolt.
- Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).
- Position the wiring harness in place and connect the TFT sensor electrical connector and the TR sensor electrical connector.
- Install the manual valve rod in the manual valve and the TR sensor and move the manual valve rod clip over the manual valve rod until the manual valve rod clip tab goes through the TR sensor to hold the manual valve rod in place.

- Install the transmission fluid pan. Refer to TRANSMISSION FLUID PAN .
- Connect the selector lever cable end.
NOTE:
Do not bend the manual valve rod clip when installing the manual valve rod. If the manual valve rod clip is bent back to install the manual valve rod instead of sliding it off, the manual valve rod clip will become permanently distorted causing total loss of transmission control or transmission failure. If the manual valve rod clip is bent, install a new manual valve rod clip.
