Pinpoint Test A: P0805, P0806, P0809, P0900, P0901, P0902, P0903

  1. A1 READ AND RECORD ALL DTCS
    • Using the diagnostic scan tool, retrieve all Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).

    Are Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) P0805, P0806, P0809, P0900, P0901, P0902 and/or P0903 present? 

    1. Yes: For Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) P0805, P0806 and/or P0809, GO to A2 

      For Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) P0900, P0901, P0902 and/or P0903, GO to  A7

    2. No: REFER to: Special Testing Procedures  .

      Clutch 1.

  2. A2 CHECK HALL-EFFECT SUPPLY VOLTAGE
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Disconnect Clutch Motor C1633.
    • Inspect the connector for damaged or pushed-out terminals, corrosion, loose wires and missing or damaged seals.
    • Ignition ON.
      NOTE: Clutch motor Hall-effect supply voltage should measure 5.1 volts with the ignition switch in the RUN position.
    • Measure.

      Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead

    Is the voltage is greater than 5.2 volts? 

    1. Yes: GO to  A5
    2. No: GO to A3 
  3. A3 CHECK THE HALL-EFFECT SUPPLY VOLTAGE CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
    • Disconnect TCM C1750B.
    • Inspect the connector for damaged or pushed-out terminals, corrosion, loose wires and missing or damaged seals.
    • Measure.

      Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead
      C1633-1 Ω C1750B-58

    Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? 

    1. Yes: GO to A4 
    2. No: REPAIR the circuit.
  4. A4 CHECK THE HALL-EFFECT SUPPLY VOLTAGE CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
    • Measure.

      Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead
      C1633-1 Ω -

    Is the resistance greater than 10, 000 ohms? 

    1. Yes: GO to  A6
    2. No: REPAIR the circuit.
  5. A5 CHECK THE HALL-EFFECT SUPPLY VOLTAGE CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO POWER
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Disconnect TCM C1750B.
    • Inspect the connector for damaged or pushed-out terminals, corrosion, loose wires and missing or damaged seals.
    • Ignition ON.
    • Measure.

      Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead

    Is the voltage greater than 5.2 volts? 

    1. Yes: REPAIR the circuit.
    2. No: REPLACE clutch motor 1 with clutch motor 2 and GO to A6 
  6. A6 RUN COMPONENT TEST

    Are Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) P0805, P0806 and/or P0809 present? 

    1. Yes: INSTALL a new TCM.

      REFER to: Transmission Control Module (TCM)  .

      PROGRAM the TCM with the latest calibration,

      REFER to: Transmission Control Module (TCM) Adaptive Learning  .

    2. No: INSTALL a new clutch motor,

      REFER to: Clutch Actuator Motor  .

      PERFORM the Clutch Adaptive Learn, REFER to: Transmission Control Module (TCM) Adaptive Learning  .

  7. A7 CHECK THE CLUTCH MOTOR 3 PHASE CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Disconnect TCM C1750B.
    • Disconnect Clutch Motor C1633.
    • Inspect the connectors for damaged or pushed-out terminals, corrosion, loose wires and missing or damaged seals.
    • Measure.

      Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead
      C1633-5 Ω C1750B-57
      C1633-6 Ω C1750B-6
      C1633-7 Ω C1750B-4
      C1633-8 Ω C1750B-5

    Are the resistances less than 5 ohms on all circuits? 

    1. Yes: GO to A8 
    2. No: REPAIR the circuit.
  8. A8 CHECK THE CLUTCH MOTOR 3 PHASE CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
    • Measure.

      Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead
      C1633-6 Ω -
      C1633-7 Ω -
      C1633-8 Ω -

    Are the resistances greater than 10, 000 ohms? 

    1. Yes: REPLACE clutch motor 1 with clutch motor 2 and GO to A9 
    2. No: REPAIR the circuit.
  9. A9 RUN COMPONENT TEST

    Are Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) P0900, P0901, P0902 and/or P0903 present? 

    1. Yes: INSTALL a new TCM.

      REFER to: Transmission Control Module (TCM)  .

      PROGRAM the TCM with the latest calibration,

      REFER to: Transmission Control Module (TCM) Adaptive Learning  .

    2. No: INSTALL a new clutch motor,

      REFER to: Clutch Actuator Motor  .

      PERFORM the Clutch Adaptive Learn, REFER to: Transmission Control Module (TCM) Adaptive Learning  .
