Selector Mechanism: Removal

Disconnect the battery. REFER to: Battery Disconnect and Connect
- 3.
Remove the air cleaner assembly.- Loosen the clamp and position aside the air cleaner outlet pipe from the air cleaner.
- Disconnect the electrical connector and detach the wiring harness retainer.
- Disconnect the air cleaner inlet tube and remove the air cleaner assembly.
- 4.
Position aside the wiring harness.- Remove the nut and position aside the wiring harness.
- Disconnect the electrical connector and position aside the wiring harness.
- 5.
Remove the shift cables from the transmission.- Release the shift cable locks.
- Remove the shift cable ends from ballstuds.
- 8.
Remove the selector mechanism.- 1.
Set the manual shift lever in the neutral (N) position. Turn the component CW through 90 degrees.
- 2.NOTE: Make sure that no components catch.
