Selector Mechanism - 2.3L EcoBoost (257kW/350PS) - MI4: Removal

1.

Disconnect the battery. REFER to: Battery Disconnect and Connect

2.

Remove the air cleaner assembly.
- Loosen the clamp and position aside the air cleaner outlet pipe from the air cleaner.
- Disconnect the electrical connector and detach the wiring harness retainer.
- Disconnect the air cleaner inlet tube and remove the air cleaner assembly.

3.

Position aside the wiring harness.
- Detach the retainer, disconnect the electrical connector and position aside the wiring harness.
- Disconnect the electrical connector and position aside the wiring harness.
- Slide the locking tab and disconnect the selector lever cables from the transmission controller arm.

4.

Set the manual shift lever in the neutral (N) position.

Remove the selector mechanism.
- 1.
  
  Turn the component CW through 90 degrees.
- 2.
  
  NOTE: Make sure that no components catch.
  
  Remove the selector mechanism.
