Symptom Chart: Instrument Panel and Interior Switches Illumination

The window control switch illumination is inoperative or always on - without door modules (without window one-touch up)	Wiring, terminals or connectors Window control switch	VERIFY the operation of the power windows. If the power windows operate correctly, INSTALL a new window control switch. Refer to: Front Door Window Control Switch or REFER to: Rear Door Window Control Switch . If the power windows do not operate correctly, REFER to: Glass, Frames and Mechanisms - Vehicles With: One-Touch Open Driver Window .
The LH front window control switch illumination is inoperative or always on - with door modules (with window one-touch up)	Window control switch	VERIFY the operation of the power windows. If the power windows operate correctly, INSTALL a new window control switch. Refer to: Front Door Window Control Switch . If the power windows do not operate correctly, REFER to: Glass, Frames and Mechanisms - Vehicles With: One-Touch Open and Close Front Windows .
The RH front, RH rear or LH rear window control switch illumination is inoperative or always on - with door modules (with window one-touch up)	REFER to the Pinpoint Tests	GO to Pinpoint Test F
All dimmable non-networked illumination is inoperative (networked illumination functions correctly)	REFER to the Pinpoint Tests	GO to Pinpoint Test A

The IPC illumination is inoperative/does not dim	IPC	PERFORM a network test. If the scan tool responds with no communication with the IPC, REFER to: Communications Network . If the scan tool communicates with the IPC, Refer to IPC Hardware Testing .
The FCIM illumination is inoperative/does not dim (base/premium)	REFER to the Pinpoint Tests	GO to Pinpoint Test I
The FCIM illumination is inoperative/does not dim (Sony ® sound)	FCIM	CHECK for normal operation of the audio system. If the audio system operates correctly, INSTALL a new FCIM. Refer to: Front Controls Interface Module (FCIM) - Sony Audio System . If the audio system does not operate correctly, REFER to: Information and Entertainment System - Sony Audio System .
The FCDIM illumination is inoperative/does not dim	FCDIM	CHECK for normal operation of the audio system. If the audio system operates correctly, INSTALL a new FCDIM. If the audio system does not operate correctly, REFER to: Information and Entertainment System - AM/FM/CD/SYNC or REFER to: Information and Entertainment System - Sony Audio System .
The FDIM illumination is inoperative/does not dim	APIM FDIM	VERIFY the audio system can be operated from the FDIM. If the audio system responds normally to FDIM inputs, Refer to APIM Hardware Testing . If the FDIM illumination still does not function correctly after the repair, INSTALL a new FDIM. Refer to: Front Control Display Interface Module (FCDIM) - AM/FM/CD/SYNC . If the audio system does not operate correctly from the FDIM inputs, REFER to: Information and Entertainment System - AM/FM/CD/SYNC .
The HVAC with DATC illumination is inoperative/does not dim	HVAC module	PERFORM a network test. If the scan tool communicate with the HVAC module, INSTALL a new HVAC module. Refer to: Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Control Module . If the scan tool does not communicate with the HVAC module, REFER to: Communications Network .
