Oil Pan: Removal

NOTE:
Automatic transmission shown in illustration, manual transmission similar.

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. REFER to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
- 3.NOTE: This step does not apply if the engine front cover is removed.
Remove the air cleaner and the air cleaner outlet pipe. REFER to: Air Cleaner . REFER to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe .
Vehicles with automatic transmission
- 4.NOTE: This step does not apply if the engine front cover is removed.
Disconnect the selector lever cable end from the manual control lever.
- 5.NOTE: This step does not apply if the engine front cover is removed.
Remove the bolts and position aside the shift cable.
All vehicles
- 6.NOTE: To prevent damage to the transmission, do not loosen the transmission-to-engine bolts more than (0.197 in) 5 mm.NOTE: This step does not apply if the engine front cover is removed.
Loosen the bolts.
Distance
: 0.197in (5 mm)
- 8.NOTE: This step does not apply if the engine front cover is removed.
Loosen the stud bolt.

: 0.197in (5 mm)

Remove the A/C compressor belt. REFER to: Air Conditioning (A/C) Compressor Belt .
- 12.NOTE: Support the A/C compressor. Do not allow the A/C compressor to hang by the A/C lines or damage to the A/C compressor and tubes may occur.
Remove the bolts and the A/C compressor shield, position aside the A/C compressor.
- 17.NOTE: This step does not apply if the engine front cover is removed.
Remove the bolts and the support bracket.
- 18.NOTE: This step does not apply if the engine front cover is removed.
Loosen the bolts.

Separate the engine and transaxle.

Remove the engine front cover-to-oil pan bolts.
