Brake Master Cylinder: Removal

NOTE:
Do not spill brake fluid on painted or plastic surfaces or damage to the surface may occur. If brake fluid is spilled onto a painted or plastic surface, immediately wash the surface with water.

Remove the battery tray. Refer to: Battery Tray .

Disconnect the brake fluid level sensor electrical connector.
- 2.
If equipped. Release the coupling and disconnect the clutch master cylinder hose.

- 5.NOTE: When removing the master cylinder, it is possible for the primary piston to become separated from the master cylinder housing causing brake fluid leakage. If this occurs, the primary piston can be reinstalled. Make sure the piston is clean and free of foreign material before installation or damage to the master cylinder may occur.
Remove the nuts and the brake master cylinder.
Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)
