Pinpoint Test AE: DTC U0212:00

  1. AE1 VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN 
    • Ignition ON.
    • Verify there is an observable symptom present.
    • Is an observable symptom present? 
    1. Yes  : GO to AE2.
    2. No  : The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
  2. AE2 CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK 
    • Connect the scan tool.
    • Using a scan tool, carry out the Network Test.
    • Does the SCCM pass the Network Test? 
    1. Yes  : GO to AE3.
    2. No  : REFER to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK .
  3. AE3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE ABS MODULE SELF-TESTS 
    • Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: Self Test - ABS Module.
    • Is DTC B11E8:16 or DTC B11E8:17 recorded? 
    1. Yes  : For DTC B11E8:16, GO to PINPOINT TEST P .

      For DTC B11E8:17, GO to PINPOINT TEST Q .

    2. No  : GO to AE4.
  4. AE4 RECHECK THE ABS MODULE DTCs 
    • Using a scan tool, clear the ABS module DTCs.
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Ignition ON.
    • Wait 10 seconds.
    • Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: Self Test - ABS Module.
    • Is DTC U0212:00 still present? 
    1. Yes  : GO to AE5.
    2. No  : The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
  5. AE5 CHECK FOR DTC U0212:00 SET IN OTHER MODULES 
    • Using a scan tool, clear all CMDTCs.
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Ignition ON.
    • Wait 10 seconds.
    • Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: Self Test - All CMDTCs.
    • Is DTC U0212:00 set in the SCCM? 
    1. Yes  : INSTALL a new SCCM. REFER to STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES . CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the ABS module self-test.
    2. No  : INSTALL a new ABS module. REFER to ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) MODULE . TEST the system for normal operation.
