Compass Calibration

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2013 Ford F-550 Super Duty, 2013 Ford F-450 Super Duty, 2013 Ford F-350 Super Duty, and 2013 Ford F-250 Super Duty. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. NOTE: For optimum calibration, drive to an open, level location away from large metallic objects or structures. Switch off all non-essential electrical accessories (heated rear window, heater, A/C, map lamps, wiper, etc.) and make sure all the doors are closed.

    Start the vehicle.

  2. Access the message center main menu screen. Using the up and down arrow buttons scroll and select the Settings tab. Press the OK button.
  3. Using the up and down arrow buttons scroll and select the Vehicle tab. Press the OK button.
  4. Using the up and down arrow buttons scroll and select the Compass tab. Press the OK button.
  5. Using the up and down arrow buttons scroll and select the Calibration tab. Press the OK button.
  6. Press and hold the OK button for calibration.
  7. NOTE: This step may require up to 5 circles to complete the calibration.

    Slowly drive the vehicle in a circle at no more than 5 km/h (3 mph) until the Circle Slowly to Calibrate message changes to Calibration Completed. To exit use the left arrow to navigate back to the main menu.
