SOS Post-Crash Alert System™

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2013 Ford Explorer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The SOS Post-Crash Alert System™ is a system that is controlled by the BCM-B  but initiated by the Restraints Control Module.

When a deployment event occurs, the RCM  sends a message on the HS-CAN  to the BCM-B  . The BCM-B  flashes the turn signal lamps and sound the horn until it is turned off. For information about the SOS Post-Crash Alert System™, REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES , Post Crash Alert Function.
