Removal And Installation: Liftgate: Installation

NOTE:
Manual liftgate shown, power liftgate similar.
- With the help of an assistant, position the liftgate to the vehicle and loosely install the liftgate-to-hinge bolts.

Install the liftgate supports.

Tighten the liftgate-to-hinge bolts.
- Tighten to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft).
- Route the liftgate wiring harness through the liftgate opening and install the boot.
- Connect the liftgate latch electrical connectors.
- Connect the license lamp electrical connector.
- Connect the rear wiper electrical connector.

Connect the heated backlight electrical connectors.
- Connect the center high mount stop lamp electrical connector.
- Install the liftgate wiring harness pushpin retainers.
- Connect the rear washer hose and install the boot.
- Install the liftgate trim panel. REFER to LIFTGATE TRIM PANEL .
- Install the liftgate opening weatherstrip.
- Install the liftgate ground strap and bolt.
- Tighten to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft).
- Adjust the liftgate to specification. Refer to LIFTGATE ALIGNMENT .
- For power liftgate application, initialize the power liftgate motor. Refer to POWER LIFTGATE INITIALIZATION .
- For power liftgate application, program the liftgate opening height. Refer to PROGRAM POWER LIFTGATE OPEN HEIGHT .
