Fuel Rail: Installation

NOTE:
Use O-ring seals that are made of special fuel-resistant material. The use of ordinary O-rings seals can cause the fuel system to leak. Do not reuse the O-ring seals.
NOTE:
The upper and lower fuel injector O-ring seals are similar in appearance but are not interchangeable.
NOTE:
Install the new fuel injector O-ring seals and lubricate them with clean engine oil.
- Replace the 12 fuel injector O-ring seals and lubricate them with clean engine oil.
- Install the 6 fuel injectors and the 6 fuel injector clips into the fuel rail.
- Install the fuel rail and fuel injectors as an assembly.
- Install the 4 fuel rail bolts.
- Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
- Connect the 6 fuel injector electrical connectors.
- Position the tube assembly and connect the fuel rail jumper tube to fuel rail spring lock coupling. For additional information, REFER to SPRING LOCK COUPLINGS .
- Install fuel rail jumper tube bracket bolt.
- Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
- Install the upper intake manifold. For additional information, REFER to UPPER INTAKE MANIFOLD .
- Connect the battery ground cable. For additional information, REFER to BATTERY DISCONNECT .
- Pressurize the fuel system. For additional information, REFER to FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE .
