Symptom Chart: Lane Departure Warning (LDW)

SYMPTOM DESCRIPTION - LANE DEPARTURE WARNING (LDW)

Condition Possible Sources Actions
  • A module does not communicate with the scan tool
  • Refer to the diagnostic routine
  • The Lane Departure Warning (LDW) does not turn on or activate
  • Refer to the diagnostic routine
  • The Lane Departure Warning (LDW) does not provide driver feedback when activated
  • Refer to the diagnostic routine
  • Early Lane Departure Warning (LDW) feedback on one side and late Lane Departure Warning (LDW) feedback on the other
  • Camera alignment
  • Dirty or cracked windshield
  • CLEAN the windshield in front of the camera.
  • Using a scan tool, PERFORM the CAMERA ALIGNMENT .
  • Unexpected or degraded Lane Departure Assist (LDA) system feedback
  • Camera alignment
  • Dirty or cracked windshield
  • Lane keeping Sys. Malfunction Service required message in the IPC 
  • Image Processing Module - A (IPM-A)
  • PSCM 
  • Front Camera Temporarily Not Available message in the IPC 
  • Temporary over temperature condition
  • Key cycle and CHECK again after 10 minutes.
  • Front Camera Low Visibility Clean Screen message in the IPC 
  • Dirty or cracked windshield
  • Camera windshield defrost heater
  • Image Processing Module - A (IPM-A)
  • CLEAN the windshield in front of the camera.
  • CLEAN out debris between the camera and the windshield.
  • REPAIR or REPLACE as necessary if the windshield is cracked or chipped in front of the camera.
  • DIAGNOSE any Image Processing Module - A (IPM-A) heater DTCs  . REFER to PINPOINT TEST I
  • Front Camera Malfunction Service Required message in the IPC 
  • Image Processing Module - A (IPM-A)
  • Lane Departure Warning (LDW) will not turn off
  • A MyKey® is in use
  • Normal operation
