Hood Latch Release Handle: Removal

  1. Remove the battery tray. REFER to BATTERY AND BATTERY TRAY - EXPLODED VIEW .
  2. Remove the hood latch. Refer to HOOD LATCH .
  3. Remove the 2 bolts and remove the steering column cover trim panel.
    • Pull outward to release the retainers.
    • To install, tighten to 3 Nm (27 lb-in).

  4. Remove the body control module. REFER to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - WITHOUT INTELLIGENT ACCESS .
  5. Remove the 3 BCM-B  bracket nuts and position aside the bracket.
    • To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
  6. Release the hood latch release cable routing clips.
  7. Remove the hood release handle screw and remove the hood release handle.
    • To install, tighten to 2.2 Nm (19 lb-in).

  8. Remove hood latch release handle and cable.
    • Pull the hood latch release handle and cable through the cowl panel into the interior.
