Steering Wheel

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2013 Ford Explorer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The steering wheel heater elements are integral to the steering wheel and cannot be serviced separately. The steering wheel heater elements are used by the Heated Steering Wheel Module (HSWM) to heat the steering wheel. When the Heated Steering Wheel Module (HSWM) receives a request to heat the steering wheel, the Heated Steering Wheel Module (HSWM) applies voltage and ground to the steering wheel heating elements to heat the steering wheel to a temperature of approximately 28-34°C (82-94°F).
