Intermediate Shaft - 3.5L GTDI: Installation

  1. Install a new intermediate shaft seal in the PTU  . REFER to INTERMEDIATE SHAFT SEAL AND DEFLECTOR .
  2. NOTE: Partially install the intermediate shaft through the PTU deflector until the splines have cleared the seal protector. Pull the seal protector out of the deflector and off of the intermediate shaft.

    • Tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).

  5. Install the RH halfshaft. For additional information, Refer to HALFSHAFT - RH, ALL WHEEL DRIVE (AWD), 3.5L GTDI  .
