Oil Pan - Upper: Installation

- Install a new gasket in the upper oil pan.
- Apply a dime-sized bead of sealant at the 4 cover joints.

NOTE: Final torque must be reached within 30 minutes of sealant application.
With the help of an assistant, install the upper oil pan and 25 bolts. Tighten in 2 stages in the sequence shown in the illustration.
- Stage 1: Tighten to 2 Nm (18 lb-in).
- Stage 2: Tighten to 24 Nm (18 lb-ft).
- Position the front wire harness and install the 2 nuts.
- Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).
- Position the side wire harness and install the nut.
- Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).
- Position the transmission cooler tubes and install the nut.
- Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).
- Position the engine wire harness at the oil filter header and install the nut.
- Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).
- Connect the EOP switch and EOT sensor electrical connectors.
- Install a new oil filter.
- Install the oil cooler. For additional information, refer to OIL COOLER .
- Install the flexplate. For additional information refer to FLEXPLATE .
- Install the oil level indicator.
