Intake Manifold - Lower: Removal

NOTE: For EXPORT ONLY vehicles (outside US/Canada) an Export Supplement is provided and should be referenced to identify differences that can impact service procedures. Vehicles can be identified by referring to the underhood Vehicle Emission Control Information (VECI) label which states, "Not certified for US EPA or CARB Regulations".

Remove the upper intake manifold. For additional information, refer to INTAKE MANIFOLD - UPPER .
Remove the air cleaner Air Cleaner (ACL) outlet tube. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION & FILTERING .
Release the clip and disconnect the Charge Air Cooler (CAC) outlet tube from the Throttle Body (TB).
Disconnect the TB electrical connector.
Disconnect the Exhaust Gas Recirculation Temperature (EGRT) sensor electrical connector and the wire harness retainer.
Remove the 4 bolts and the EGR bypass outlet pipe.
- Discard the gaskets.
Release the clip and disconnect the CAC inlet tube from the turbocharger.
NOTE: Vehicles with over 14, 000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR), will only have the lower turbocharger inlet boot.

Loosen the turbocharger inlet hose clamps.
- Loosen the 2 lower turbocharger inlet hose clamps.
- If equipped, loosen the 2 upper turbocharger inlet hose clamps.
Disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose from the lower intake manifold.
Remove the 3 bolts and the lower intake manifold.
- Remove the turbocharger inlet hose(s) as needed.
