Crankshaft Front Seal: Removal

  1. Remove the crankshaft pulley. For additional information, refer to CRANKSHAFT PULLEY .
  2. NOTE: Use extreme care when removing the slinger or damage to the engine front cover may occur.

    Using 2 pocket screwdrivers, carefully remove and discard the front crankshaft slinger.

    • It will be necessary to remove the slinger from the sides as well as the top and bottom.

  3. NOTE: Do not scratch or damage the crankshaft during removal or installation of the front crankshaft seal.

    Using the Front Crank Seal Remover, remove and discard the front crankshaft seal from the engine front cover.

  4. Clean and inspect the crankshaft sealing surface.
