Connecting Rod Bushing Diameter

- Using a suitable solvent, thoroughly clean the connecting rod and cap.
- Mark each connecting rod and its corresponding cap.
- Use a telescoping gauge and a 25-50 mm (1-2 in) micrometer to measure the inside diameter of the piston pin bushing. Measure and record the piston pin bushing as indicated.
- Measure the piston pin bushing again 90 degrees from the 1st measurement. Measure and record the piston pin bore.
- Install a new connecting rod if not within specification. For additional information, refer to SPECIFICATIONS .
- Measure the piston pin diameter in 2 directions at the points shown in the illustration. Verify the diameter is within specification. For additional information, refer to SPECIFICATIONS .
- If out of specification, install a new piston pin.
