Rear of engine noise

The flexplate is a common source of noise from the rear of the engine (knocking). Inspection of the flexplate will be necessary.

  1. 14. After localizing the noise, note the characteristics of the noise, including type of noise, frequency and conditions when the noise occurs and GO to SYMPTOM CHART - ENGINE NVH .
