Crankshaft Rear Seal with Retainer Plate: Removal

- Remove the oil pan. For additional information, refer to OIL PAN .

NOTE: The powertrain was lifted using a Transmission jack, Engine Support Bar, Support Hook and Engine Support Bracket during the oil pan removal.
Lower the power train into the installed position as follows:
- Align the transmission rear insulator studs with the crossmember holes and lower the transmission. Remove the Transmission Jack.
- Align the engine support insulator studs with the frame holes and lower the engine.
- Remove the flexplate. For additional information, refer to FLEXPLATE .
- Remove the rear engine cover plate.
- Using the Slide Hammer and the Crankshaft Rear Oil Slinger Remover, remove and discard the crankshaft oil slinger.
- Using the Slide Hammer and the Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal Remover, remove and discard the crankshaft rear seal.
- Remove the 6 bolts and the crankshaft rear seal retainer plate.
