Smart Unlock

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2013 Ford Mustang. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: It is possible to lock the vehicle with the key in the ignition lock cylinder if the doors are locked with the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter, manually locked with the manual push buttons or with another key in the door lock cylinder.

The smart unlock feature prevents the driver door from locking with the key in the ignition lock cylinder. When the SJB receives a LOCK command from a door lock control switch, and the key is in the ignition lock cylinder with the driver door open, the SJB commands both doors to unlock.
