Passenger Airbag: Removal

NOTE:
The air bag warning indicator illuminates when the correct Restraints Control Module (RCM) fuse is removed and the ignition is ON.
NOTE:
The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) must be fully operational and free of faults before releasing the vehicle to the customer.
- Depower the SRS. For additional information, refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) DEPOWERING AND REPOWERING .
- Lower the glove compartment door.
- Remove the 4 bolts and position the Accessory Protocol Interface Module (APIM) aside.
- Disconnect the passenger air bag module electrical connector.
- Remove the 2 air bag module bolts.
- Through the glove box opening, detach the air bag trim cover clips from the instrument panel and remove the passenger air bag module.
