Pilot Bearing Check

  1. NOTE: The pilot bearing is a sealed bearing and must not be immersed in any type of cleaning fluid or damage may occur.

    Inspect the pilot bearing for the following conditions. Install a new pilot bearing as necessary. For additional information, refer to CLUTCH .

    • Needle rollers for scoring, worn or broken rollers, cracked roller cage
    • Inadequate grease
    • Discoloration
    • Seal leakage
    • Misalignment and looseness in the crankshaft
