Transmission Case: Disassembly

- Remove the snap ring from the clutch housing.
- Remove the oil pump drive gear.
- Remove the oil pump gear.
- Remove the oil pump spring and check ball.
- Remove the cooler line fitting.
- Remove the shift detent from the transmission main case.
- Remove the 2 shift guide plate bolts and the shift guide plate.
- Remove the reverse lamp switch.
- Remove the cooler line fitting.
- Inspect the countershaft and output shaft bearing cups for wear or damage. Install new components as necessary.
- If necessary, Use a brass drift to remove the countershaft and output shaft bearing cups by tapping alternately on opposite sides of the bearing cups.
- Clean the transmission main case and clutch housing with solvent and dry with compressed air. Inspect the transmission main case and clutch housing for cracks.
- If the transmission main case or clutch housing is cracked, install a new component as necessary.

NOTE: Do not remove the magnets.
