Transmission Case: Assembly

NOTE: If a new countershaft bearing is being installed, install a new bearing cup. Always install new bearings and cups in a set.

Using the Bearing Cup Installer with Handle, install the countershaft bearing cup.

NOTE: If a new mainshaft bearing is being installed, install a new bearing cup. Always install new bearings and cups in a set.

Using the Rear Axle Oil Seal Installer with Handle, install the output shaft bearing cup.

Apply thread sealant to the threads and install the cooler line fitting.
- Tighten to 22 Nm (16 lb-ft).
Apply thread sealant to the threads and install the reverse lamp switch.
- Tighten to 27 Nm (20 lb-ft).
Install the shift guide plate and the 2 shift guide plate bolts.
- Tighten to 22 Nm (16 lb-ft).
Apply thread sealant to the threads and install the shift detent into the transmission main case.
- Tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
Apply thread sealant to the threads and install the cooler line fitting.
- Tighten to 22 Nm (16 lb-ft).
Install the oil pump check ball and spring.
- Tighten to 18 Nm (13 lb-ft).
NOTE: Lubricate the oil pump gear with clean transmission fluid.

Install the oil pump gear.
NOTE: Lubricate the oil pump drive gear with clean transmission fluid.

Install the oil pump drive gear.
Install the snap ring into the clutch housing.
