DTC P0507: Idle Control System: Rpm Higher Than Expected

DTC P0507: IDLE CONTROL SYSTEM: RPM HIGHER THAN EXPECTED

Description:  This DTC sets when the engine idle speed that is greater than the desired engine idle speed or the actual engine idle speed is greater than 160 revolutions per minute (RPM) above the desired RPM for greater than 5 seconds.
Possible Causes: 
  • Intake air system leak after the throttle body
  • Vacuum leaks
  • Damaged intake throttle actuator
Diagnostic Aids:  This DTC is informational only and it may be accompanied by other DTCs. Diagnose the other DTCs first. If other DTCs are not present, inspect the entire intake air system for restrictions, vacuum leaks, and damage. Repair as necessary. If no concerns are found, clear the DTCs. Repeat the self test.
