Manual Zoom

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2013 Ford F-550 Super Duty, 2013 Ford F-450 Super Duty, 2013 Ford F-350 Super Duty, and 2013 Ford F-250 Super Duty. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The manual zoom feature allows the driver to digitally zoom the rear video camera image. The manual zoom feature has 3 zoom levels that are only active when the vehicle is in reverse. If the manual zoom feature is enabled and the vehicle is shifted out of reverse the manual zoom feature defaults to off and must be re-enabled the next time the vehicle is shifted into reverse. For vehicles with a 203.2 mm (8 in) touchscreen, when driver zoom requests are generated through the FDIM, the APIM sends the zoom request as a network message to the BCM. For vehicles without a 203.2 mm (8 in) touchscreen, when a zoom request is generated through the IPC message center, the IPC sends the zoom request as a network message to the BCM. The BCM then sends the zoom request message to the rear video camera over the LIN. The video image is then digitally zoomed in or out by the rear video camera.
