Transfer Case Rear Output Shaft Seal: Installation

Vehicles equipped with a flange
- Using the Output Shaft Oil Seal Installer and the Handle, install a new rear output seal.
- Using the Drive Pinion Flange Holding Fixture to prevent the flange from turning, install the rear flange and a new rear output flange nut.
- Tighten to 251 Nm (186 lb-ft).

NOTE: Align the index marks made during removal.
Connect the rear driveshaft to the transfer case.
- Install 4 new rear driveshaft flange bolts.
- Tighten to 102 Nm (75 lb-ft).
Vehicles equipped with a slip yoke
- Using a suitable driver, install the rear output seal.
- Install the driveshaft. For additional information, refer to DRIVESHAFT .
