Transmission Fluid Cooler Tubes - 6.7L Diesel: Removal

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
  2. Remove and discard oil filter.
  3. Disconnect the Engine Oil Temperature (EOT) sensor and Engine Oil Pressure (EOP) switch electrical connectors.

  4. Remove the nut from the oil filter adapter and position the engine wire harness aside.

  5. Remove 4 bolts, 1 stud and the oil filter adapter.
    • Remove and discard the gasket.
      • Clean and inspect the sealing surfaces.

  6. Remove the nut and position the transmission cooler tubes aside.

  7. Remove the nut and position the side engine wire harness aside.

  8. Remove the transmission fluid cooler tube secondary latches.

  9. NOTE: Transmission fluid cooler tube outlet shown in illustration, inlet tube similar.

    Using the Transmission Cooler Line Disconnect Tool, disconnect the transmission fluid cooler tube assembly.

  10. NOTE: Transmission fluid cooler tube assembly is removed from the rear of the vehicle.

    Remove the bolt from the transmission case and remove the transmission fluid cooler tubes from the vehicle.
