Pinpoint Test
- CHECK THE POWER OUTLET LED STATUS
- Ignition OFF.
- Start the engine.
- Check the green LED on the AC outlet.
Is the green LED flashing?
- Yes:
- GO to 2 .
- No:
- If the green LED is NOT illuminated, CHECK BJB fuse 17 (40A) and BCM fuse 32 (15A). If OK, REFER to Diagnostic Routine B: The AC Power Point LED is Never On . If not OK, identify the possible cause of the circuit short.
Refer to the HORN_CIGAR LIGHTER - Wiring Diagrams for schematic and connector information.
- If the green LED is illuminated continuously, the DC / AC inverter may have timed-out after 13 minutes of operation without the engine running. VERIFY correct system operation with a device rated at less than 150 watts. If there is still no power at the AC outlet, GO to 2 .
- If the green LED is NOT illuminated, CHECK BJB fuse 17 (40A) and BCM fuse 32 (15A). If OK, REFER to Diagnostic Routine B: The AC Power Point LED is Never On . If not OK, identify the possible cause of the circuit short.
- CHECK THE POWER SUPPLY CIRCUITS FOR VOLTAGE
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect DC / AC Inverter C3501A.
- Ignition ON.
- Measure:
DC / AC Inverter Ground C3501A Ground Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 2 CBP32 (GN/VT) - Ground 4 SBB17 (RD) - Ground
Are the voltages greater than 10 volts?
- Yes:
- GO to 3 .
- No:
- CHECK BJB fuse 17 (40A) and BCM fuse 32 (15A). If OK, REPAIR the open circuit on the affected circuit(s). If not OK, identify the possible cause of the circuit short.

- CHECK BJB fuse 17 (40A) and BCM fuse 32 (15A). If OK, REPAIR the open circuit on the affected circuit(s). If not OK, identify the possible cause of the circuit short.
- CHECK THE GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Ignition OFF.
- Measure:
DC / AC Inverter Ground C3501A Ground Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 6 GD348 (BK/YE) - Ground
Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
- Yes:
- GO to 4 .
- No:
- REPAIR the circuit.
- CHECK THE AC OUTLET CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN
- Disconnect AC Outlet C301.
- Disconnect DC / AC Inverter C3501B.
- Measure:
DC / AC Inverter AC Outlet C3501B C301 Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 6 HYA01 (OG/GN) 3 HYA01 (OG/GN) 3 HYA02 (OG/WH) 1 HYA02 (OG/WH)
Are the resistances less than 5 ohms?
- Yes:
- GO to 5 .
- No:
- REPAIR the circuit(s).
- CHECK THE AC OUTLET CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TOGETHER
- Measure:
DC / AC Inverter DC / AC Inverter C3501B C3501B Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 6 HYA01 (OG/GN) 3 HYA02 (OG/WH)
Is the resistance greater than 10, 000 ohms?
- Yes:
- GO to 6 .
- No:
- REPAIR the circuits.
- Measure:
- CHECK THE AC OUTLET CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Measure:
DC / AC Inverter Ground C3501B Ground Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 3 HYA02 (OG/WH) - Ground 6 HYA01 (OG/GN) - Ground
Are the resistances greater than 10, 000 ohms?
- Yes:
- GO to 7 .
- No:
- REPAIR the affected circuit(s).
- Measure:
- CHECK THE AC OUTLET FOR AN OPEN
- Measure:
AC Outlet AC Outlet C301 Outlet Face Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 1 HYA02 (OG/WH) 1 HYA02 (OG/WH) 3 HYA01 (OG/GN) 2 HYA01 (OG/GN)
Are the resistances less than 5 ohms?
- Yes:
- INSTALL a new DC / AC inverter. REFER to Direct Current-Alternating Current (DC-AC) Inverter .
- No:
- INSTALL a new AC outlet. REFER to Alternating Current (AC) Power Point .
- Measure:
