Pinpoint Test

CHECK THE BACKLIGHTING VOLTAGE SUPPLY CIRCIT FOR AN OPEN

Ignition OFF.
Disconnect: Inoperative Illumination Source.
Ignition ON.
Place the headlamp switch in the parking lamps on position.
Using the instrument panel dimmer switch, change the dimmable backlighting to its brightest setting.

Measure:

Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?

Yes: For a door lock control switch, INSTALL a new door lock control switch. REFER to DOOR LOCK CONTROL SWITCH .
For all other components, GO to 2 .
No: REPAIR the circuit.

Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?

Yes: INSTALL a new component in question.
No: REPAIR the circuit.
