Pinpoint Test

  1. CHECK THE ADJUSTABLE PEDAL OPERATION WITH THE ADJUSTABLE PEDAL SWITCH
    1. Press the adjustable pedal switch in each direction for more than one second and observe the adjustable pedals.

    Do the adjustable pedals operate for more than one second in the direction selected using the switch? 

  2. CHECK THE MEMORY SYSTEM OPERATION
    1. Set a memory position for the driver seat, exterior mirrors and adjustable pedals to memory SET switch button 1. REFER to MEMORY POSITION PROGRAMMING .
    2. Select PARK.
    3. Press the memory SET switch button 1 and observe:
      • Driver seat
      • Exterior mirrors
      • Adjustable pedals

    Do all 3 items move when the button is pressed? 

    • Yes: GO to .
    • No: If all 3 items do not move, REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE J : The Memory Seat Does Not Operate Correctly - Does Not Operate Using the Memory Set Switch to diagnose the memory SET switch.

      If only the adjustable pedals do not move, GO to  4.

      If only the driver seat does not move, REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE J : The Memory Seat Does Not Operate Correctly - Does Not Operate Using the Memory Set Switch to diagnose the memory SET switch.

      If only the exterior mirrors do not move, REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE D : The memory mirror is inoperative.

  3. CHECK THE RKE OPERATION
    1. Set a memory position in the RKE for the driver seat, exterior mirrors and adjustable pedals. REFER to REMOTE MEMORY ACTIVATION .
    2. Select PARK.
    3. Press the unlock button on the RKE transmitter/ IA key and observe:
      • Driver seat
      • Exterior mirrors
      • Adjustable pedals

    Do all 3 items move when the button is pressed? 

  4. CHECK FOR DSM OR BCM DTCs 
    1. Ignition ON
    2. Using a scan tool, perform DSM self-test.
    3. Using a scan tool, perform BCM self-test.
    4. Record any DTCs  retrieved from the DSM or the BCM.

    Was DTC U0140 retrieved from the DSM or U0212:00 retrieved from the BCM? 

  5. CHECK THE ADJUSTABLE PEDAL MOTOR AND HALL-EFFECT SENSOR CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
    1. Ignition OFF.
    2. Disconnect Adjustable Pedal Motor.
    3. Disconnect SCCM C2414C.
    4. Disconnect SCCM C2414B.
    5. Ignition ON.
    6. Measure:
      Adjustable Pedal Motor Ground

      - Ground

    Is any voltage present? 

    • Yes: REPAIR the affected circuit(s).
    • No: GO to .
  6. CHECK THE ADJUSTABLE PEDAL MOTOR AND HALL-EFFECT SENSOR CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
    1. Ignition OFF.
    2. Measure:
      Adjustable Pedal Motor Ground

    Are the resistance values greater than 10, 000 ohms? 

    • Yes: GO to .
    • No: REPAIR the affected circuit(s).
  7. CHECK THE ADJUSTABLE PEDAL MOTOR CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN
    1. Measure:

    Are the resistances less than 3 ohms? 

    • Yes: GO to .
    • No: REPAIR the affected circuit(s).
  8. CHECK THE ADJUSTABLE PEDAL MOTOR HALL-EFFECT SENSOR CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN
    1. Measure:

  9. CHECK THE ADJUSTABLE PEDAL MOTOR AND HALL-EFFECT SENSOR CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TOGETHER
    1. Measure:

    Are the resistance values greater than 10, 000 ohms? 

    • Yes: CONFIGURE the SCCM using As-built data and TEST the system for normal operation.

      If the adjustable pedals do not operate correctly, INSTALL a new adjustable pedal motor and bracket assembly. REFER to ACCELERATOR PEDAL removal.

    • No: REPAIR the affected circuit(s).
