Window Glass - Rear Quarter: Removal

  1. Remove the C-pillar trim panel. REFER to C-PILLAR TRIM PANEL - WITH INFLATABLE SAFETY BELTS , or C-PILLAR TRIM PANEL - WITHOUT INFLATABLE SAFETY BELTS .
  2. Remove the D-pillar trim panel. REFER to D-PILLAR TRIM PANEL .
  3. WARNING: Always wear eye protection when servicing a vehicle. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.
    WARNING: Wear protective gloves when handling components or parts that have pointed or sharp edges. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.
    NOTE: To avoid rust formation, use extreme care not to scratch the paint or primer, or otherwise damage the pinch weld during glass removal.
    NOTE: Lubricate the existing urethane adhesive with water to aid the 300-AST1770E  while cutting.

    From the outside of the vehicle, using the Pneumatic Knife with Offset Blade, cut the top portion of glass.

  4. NOTE: Insert the blade into the 300-AST1770E  so that the flat side is against the glass. This will leave the entire urethane adhesive bead on the pinch weld and allow a dry fit of the replacement rear quarter glass.
    NOTE: Lubricate the existing urethane adhesive with water to aid the 300-AST1770E  while cutting.

    From inside the vehicle, using the 300-AST1770E  , cut the glass starting at the upper C-pillar and work down, across the bottom, then upward toward the upper D-pillar.

  5. Remove the rear quarter window glass.
