Pinpoint Test
- CHECK THE SUSPECT POWER WINDOW OPERATION FROM LH FRONT CONTROL SWITCH
- Ignition ON.
- Attempt to operate the suspect window from the LH front window control switch.
Does the window operate when using the LH front window control switch?
- Yes: GO to 2 .
- No: GO to 3.
- CHECK THE LH FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH LOCK-OUT/VOLTAGE FEED CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: Suspect RH Front Window Control Switch C604, Rear Window Control Switch C701 (LH) or C801 (RH).
- Ignition ON.

NOTE: Make sure the LH window control switch lockout switch is in the UNLOCK position.
For an inoperative rear window, measure:
Suspect Rear Window Control Switch Ground C701 (LH) / C801 (RH) Ground Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 5 CPW14 (VT/WH) - Ground - For an inoperative RH front window, measure:
RH Front Window Control Switch Ground C604 Ground Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 5 ZA320 (OG/GN) - Ground
Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?
- Yes: INSTALL a new window control switch. REFER to Window Control Switch .
- No: For an inoperative RH front window, GO to 10.
For an inoperative rear window, REPAIR the circuit.
- CHECK THE SUSPECT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH VOLTAGE CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: Suspect RH Front Window Control Switch C604, Rear Window Control Switch C701 (LH) or C801 (RH).
- Ignition ON.
- For an inoperative rear window, measure:
Suspect Window Control Switch Ground C701 (LH) / C801 (RH) Ground Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 1 CBP01 (BU) - Ground - For an inoperative RH front window, measure:
RH Front Window Control Switch Ground C604 Ground Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 1 CBP01 (BU) - Ground
Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?
- Yes: GO to 4 .
- No: REPAIR the circuit.
- CHECK THE SUSPECT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Ignition OFF.
- Measure:
Suspect Rear Window Control Switch Ground C604 (RH front), C701 (LH rear) / C801 (RH rear)) Ground Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 1 (LH rear) GD349 (BK/GY) - Ground 1 (RH front or rear) GD348 (BK/YE) - Ground
Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
- Yes: GO to 5 .
- No: REPAIR the circuit.
- CHECK THE SUSPECT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH FOR VOLTAGE SIGNAL FROM THE LH FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH
- Ignition ON.
- For LH rear window, while pressing and releasing the LH front window control switch, measure:
LH Rear Window Control Switch Ground C701 Ground Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 6 (UP) CPW16 (BU/OG) - Ground 7 (DOWN) CPW15 (YE) - Ground - For RH rear window, while pressing and releasing the LH front window control switch, measure:
RH Rear Window Control Switch Ground C801 Ground Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 6 (UP) CPW18 (GY/VT) - Ground 7 (DOWN) CPW17 (BN/GN) - Ground - For RH front window, while pressing and releasing the LH front window control switch, measure:
RH Front Window Control Switch Ground C604 Ground Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 6 (UP) CPW13 (BN/YE) - Ground 7 (DOWN) CPW12 (GN/OG) - Ground
Is the voltage greater than 11 volts when the LH front window control switch is pressed; and 0 volt when the switch is released?
- CHECK FOR AN OPEN BETWEEN THE SUSPECT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH AND THE LH FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: LH Front Window Control Switch C535A.
- For LH rear window, measure:
LH Rear Window Control Switch LH Front Window Control Switch C701 C535A Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 6 CPW16 (BU/OG) 17 CPW16 (BU/OG) 7 CPW15 (YE) 18 CPW15 (YE) - For RH rear window, measure:
RH Rear Window Control Switch LH Front Window Control Switch C801 C535A Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 6 CPW18 (GY/VT) 16 CPW18 (GY/VT) 7 CPW17 (BN/GN) 15 CPW17 (BN/GN) - For RH front window, measure:
RH Front Window Control Switch LH Front Window Control Switch C604 C535A Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 6 CPW13 (BN/YE) 14 CPW13 (BN/YE) 7 CPW12 (GN/OG) 13 CPW12 (GN/OG)
Are the resistances less than 3 ohms?
- Yes: INSTALL a new LH front window control switch. REFER to Window Control Switch .
- No: REPAIR the affected circuit.
- CHECK THE LH FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: LH Front Window Control Switch C535A.
- Ignition ON.
- For LH rear window, measure:
LH Rear Window Control Switch Ground C701 Ground Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 6 (UP) CPW16 (BU/OG) - Ground 7 (DOWN) CPW15 (YE) - Ground - For RH rear window, measure:
RH Rear Window Control Switch Ground C801 Ground Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 6 (UP) CPW18 (GY/VT) - Ground 7 (DOWN) CPW17 (BN/GN) - Ground - For RH front window, measure:
RH Front Window Control Switch Ground C604 Ground Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 6 (UP) CPW13 (BN/YE) - Ground 7 (DOWN) CPW12 (GN/OG) - Ground
Is any voltage present?
- Yes: REPAIR the affected circuit.
- No: INSTALL a new LH front window control switch. REFER to Window Control Switch .
- CHECK THE SUSPECT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH OPERATION
- Ignition ON.
- To check upward window operation, connect fused jumper wires:

Does the rear window move up and/or down?
- Yes: INSTALL a new rear window control switch. REFER to Window Control Switch .
- No: GO to 9 .
- CHECK FOR AN OPEN CIRCUIT BETWEEN THE SUSPECT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH AND WINDOW MOTOR
- Disconnect: Suspect Rear Window Motor C703 (LH) or C803 (RH).
- Measure
Suspect Rear Window Control Switch Suspect Rear Window Motor C701 (LH) / C801 (RH) C703 (LH) / C803 (RH) Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 8 CPW21 (BN) (LH) / CPW23 (GY) (RH) 2 CPW21 (BN) (LH) / CPW23 (GY) (RH) 4 CPW22 (GN/VT) (LH) / CPW24 (WH/VT) (RH) 1 CPW22 (GN/VT) (LH) / CPW24 (WH/VT) (RH)
Are the resistances less than 3 ohms?
- Yes: INSTALL a new rear window motor. REFER to Window Regulator Motor - Rear Door .
- No: REPAIR the affected circuit.
- CHECK THE FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH VOLTAGE FEED CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: LH Front Window Control Switch C535A.
- Measure:
RH Front Window Control Switch LH Front Window Control Switch C604 C535A Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 5 ZA320 (OG/GN) 10 ZA320 (OG/GN)
Is the resistances less than 3 ohms?
- Yes: INSTALL a new LH front window control switch. REFER to Window Control Switch .
- No: REPAIR the circuit.
- CHECK THE RH FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH OPERATION
- Ignition ON.
- To check upward window operation, connect fused jumper wires:
RH Front Window Control Switch RH Front Window Control Switch C604 C604 Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 1 CBP01 (BU) 4 CPW20 (WH/OG) 8 CPW19 (VT) 3 GD348 (BK/YE) - To check downward window operation, connect fused jumper wires:
RH Front Window Control Switch RH Front Window Control Switch C604 C604 Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 1 CBP01 (BU) 8 CPW19 (VT) 4 CPW20 (WH/OG) 3 GD348 (BK/YE)
Does the rear window move up and/or down?
- Yes: INSTALL a new RH front window control switch. REFER to Window Control Switch .
- No: GO to 12 .
- CHECK FOR AN OPEN CIRCUIT BETWEEN THE RH FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH AND WINDOW MOTOR
- Disconnect: RH Front Window Motor C608.
- Measure
RH Front Window Control Switch RH Front Window Motor C604 C608 Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 8 CPW19 (VT) 2 CPW19 (VT) 4 CPW20 (WH/OG) 1 CPW20 (WH/OG)
Are the resistances less than 3 ohms?
- Yes: INSTALL a new front window motor. REFER to Window Regulator Motor - Front Door .
- No: REPAIR the affected circuit.
