Pinpoint Test

  1. CHECK THE ROOF OPENING PANEL SHADE TRACK FOR OBSTRUCTIONS OR DAMAGE
    1. Check the roof opening panel shade for any obstructions and damage.

    Are there any obstructions and/or damage? 

    1. Yes: REMOVE all obstructions. REPAIR any damage. If the damage cannot be repaired, INSTALL a new roof opening panel frame. REFER to Roof Opening Panel Frame .
    2. No: GO to .
  2. CHECK THE ROOF OPENING PANEL SHADE ASSEMBLY FOR CORRECT INSTALLATION
    1. Check the roof opening panel shade for correct installation.

    Is the roof opening panel shade assembly installed correctly? 

    1. Yes: GO to .
    2. No: INSTALL the roof opening panel shade assembly correctly. REFER to Roof Opening Panel Shade Assembly .
  3. CHECK THE ROOF OPENING PANEL SHADE MOTOR
    1. Remove the roof opening panel shade motor and leave the electrical connector connected.
    2. Operate the roof opening panel shade to the full OPEN and CLOSED position using the shade control switch.

    Does the roof opening panel shade motor make excessive noise? 

    1. Yes: INSTALL a new roof opening panel shade motor. REFER to Roof Opening Panel Motor - Shade .
    2. No: REINSTALL the roof opening panel shade motor. REINITIALIZE the roof opening panel shade motor. REFER to Roof Opening Panel Motor Initialization - Shade .

      If the roof opening panel shade is still noisy, INSTALL a new roof opening panel frame. REFER to Roof Opening Panel Frame . If the roof opening panel shade is no longer noisy, the system is operating correctly. The concern may have been caused by an incorrectly installed roof opening panel shade motor.
