Pinpoint Test
- CHECK THE ROOF OPENING PANEL SHADE TRACK FOR OBSTRUCTIONS OR DAMAGE
- Check the roof opening panel shade for any obstructions and damage.
Are there any obstructions and/or damage?
- Yes: REMOVE all obstructions. REPAIR any damage. If the damage cannot be repaired, INSTALL a new roof opening panel frame. REFER to Roof Opening Panel Frame .
- No: GO to 2 .
- CHECK THE ROOF OPENING PANEL SHADE ASSEMBLY FOR CORRECT INSTALLATION
- Check the roof opening panel shade for correct installation.
Is the roof opening panel shade assembly installed correctly?
- Yes: GO to 3 .
- No: INSTALL the roof opening panel shade assembly correctly. REFER to Roof Opening Panel Shade Assembly .
- CHECK THE ROOF OPENING PANEL SHADE MOTOR
- Remove the roof opening panel shade motor and leave the electrical connector connected.
- Operate the roof opening panel shade to the full OPEN and CLOSED position using the shade control switch.
Does the roof opening panel shade motor make excessive noise?
- Yes: INSTALL a new roof opening panel shade motor. REFER to Roof Opening Panel Motor - Shade .
- No: REINSTALL the roof opening panel shade motor. REINITIALIZE the roof opening panel shade motor. REFER to Roof Opening Panel Motor Initialization - Shade .
If the roof opening panel shade is still noisy, INSTALL a new roof opening panel frame. REFER to Roof Opening Panel Frame . If the roof opening panel shade is no longer noisy, the system is operating correctly. The concern may have been caused by an incorrectly installed roof opening panel shade motor.
