Seat Backrest - 60 Percent: Removal
WARNING:
Use care when the seat back frame is removed and when releasing the recliners from a backrest upright position. The recliners are spring-loaded, which may cause the recliner upper arms to fold with significant speed/force. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.
NOTE:
For parts identification and location, REFER to Seat - Exploded View .
- Remove the 60 percent seat. REFER to Seat .
- From under the seat, detach the 2 sets of cushion cover J-clips.
- From under the seat, detach the seat cover retainer.
- Pull the cushion cover retainer out from between the riser and cushion frame.
- Detach the cushion cover J-clip from the cushion frame.
- Release the 2 cushion cover retainers from the rear of the cushion frame.
- Remove the cushion foam pad and cover assembly.
- Open the backrest cover.
- Detach the backrest cover J-clips at the bottom of the seat backrest.
- Detach the 4 backrest cover inner J-clips attached to the hard back panel.
- Remove the 4 pin-type retainers.
- Detach the hook-and-loop strips.
- If equipped, remove the armrest. REFER to Armrest .
- If equipped with an armrest, detach the J-clips in the armrest pocket.
- Remove the safety belt anchor-to-inboard recliner bolt. Position the safety belt anchor out from behind the recliner.
- Roll the backrest cover up and remove the 2 outboard recliner-to-backrest bolts.
- Pull and remove the outboard pivot cover.
- Remove the 3 inboard pivot cover screws and the inboard pivot cover.
- Remove the pivot bolt.
- Lift the backrest foam pad and cover. Remove the 2 inboard recliner-to-backrest frame bolts.
- Remove the backrest.
