Pinpoint Test
- CHECK THE PASSENGER SEAT CONTROL SWITCH FOR VOLTAGE

WARNING: Turn the ignition OFF and wait one minute to deplete the backup power supply. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury or death in the event of an accidental deployment.
Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: Passenger Seat Side Air Bag C339.
- Disconnect: Passenger Seat Control Switch C3190.
- Measure:
Passenger Seat Control Switch Ground C3190 Ground Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 4 CBX05 (VT/RD) - Ground
Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?
- Yes: GO to 2 .
- No: VERIFY BJB fuse 42 (30A) is OK. If OK, REPAIR the circuit. If not OK, REFER to the appropriate wiring diagrams to identify the possible causes of the circuit short. REFER to OEM FUSE AND RELAY INFORMATION and OEM WIRING DIAGRAMS . GO to 3.

- CHECK THE DRIVER SEAT CONTROL SWITCH GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Measure:
Passenger Seat Control Switch Ground C3190 Ground Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 2 GD903 (BK/WH) - Ground
Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
- Yes: INSTALL a new seat control switch. REFER to Seat Control Switch . GO to 3 .
- No: REPAIR the circuit. GO to 3 .
- Measure:
- CHECK FOR SRS DTCs

Ignition OFF.
- Connect: Passenger Seat Side Air Bag C339.
- Connect: All previously disconnected electrical connectors.
- Ignition ON.
- Using a scan tool, clear the RCM DTCs .
- Cycle the ignition OFF then ON.
- Using a scan tool, perform RCM self-test.
Are any RCM DTCs retrieved during self-test?
- Yes: REFER to DTC CHART: RESTRAINT CONTROL MODULE (RCM) for pinpoint test direction.
- No: The repair is complete. RETURN the vehicle to the customer.
