Pinpoint Test

  1. CHECK THE LH DOOR LOCK CONTROL SWITCH
    1. Disconnect: LH Door Lock Control Switch.
    2. Using a scan tool, clear the BCM DTCs  .
    3. Using a scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.

    Is DTC B126A:01 retrieved? 

    • Yes: LEAVE the switch disconnected. GO to .
    • No: INSTALL a new LH door lock control switch. REFER to Door Lock Control Switch .
  2. CHECK THE RH DOOR LOCK CONTROL SWITCH
    1. Disconnect: RH Door Lock Control Switch.
    2. Using a scan tool, clear the BCM DTCs  .
    3. Using a scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.

    Is DTC B126A:01 retrieved again? 

    • Yes: LEAVE the switch disconnected. GO to .
    • No: INSTALL a new RH door lock control switch. REFER to Door Lock Control Switch .
  3. CHECK THE LOCK INPUT CIRCUIT OR THE UNLOCK INPUT CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
    1. Ignition OFF.
    2. Disconnect: BCM C2280C.
    3. Measure:
      RH Door Lock Control Switch Ground

      C605 Ground
      Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit
      4 CPK19 (BU/GN)
      G08040533
      - Ground
      2 CPK23 (YE/VT)
      G08040534
      - Ground

    Are the resistances greater than 10, 000 ohms? 

    • Yes: GO to .
    • No: REPAIR the affected circuit.
  4. CHECK FOR CORRECT BCM OPERATION
    1. Ignition OFF.
    2. Disconnect and inspect all BCM connectors.
    3. Repair:
      • corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
      • damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins
      • pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
    4. Reconnect all BCM connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
    5. Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.

    Is the concern still present? 

    • Yes: CHECK OASIS  for any applicable TSBs  . If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW TSB instructions. If no TSBs  address this concern, INSTALL a new BCM. REFER to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - WITHOUT INTELLIGENT ACCESS (IA) .
    • No: The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
