Pinpoint Test
- CHECK THE HOOD SWITCH
- Disconnect: Hood Switch.
- Connect:
Hood Switch Hood Switch C127 C127 Pin Circuit Measurement Pin Circuit 1 CPL25 (BU/OG) 2 GD120 (BK/GN) - Using a scan tool, clear the BCM DTCs .
- Using a scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.
Is the BCM DTC B1305:01 retrieved?
- Yes: REMOVE the jumper wire. GO to 2 .
- No: REMOVE the jumper wire. INSTALL a new hood switch.
- CHECK THE HOOD SWITCH GROUND CIRCUIT
- Connect:
Hood Switch Ground C127 Ground Pin Circuit Measurement Pin Circuit 1 CPL25 (BU/OG) 1 Ground - Using a scan tool, clear the BCM DTCs .
- Using a scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.
Is the BCM DTC B1305:01 retrieved?
- Yes: GO to 3 .
- No: REPAIR the ground circuit for an open.
- Connect:
- CHECK THE HOOD SWITCH SIGNAL CIRCUIT TO THE BCM FOR AN OPEN
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: BCM C2280F.
- Measure:
Hood Switch BCM C127 C2280F Pin Circuit Measurement Pin Circuit 1 CPL25 (BU/OG) 2 CPL25 (BU/OG)
Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
- Yes: GO to 4 .
- No: REPAIR the circuit.
- CHECK FOR CORRECT BCM OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect and inspect all BCM connectors.
- Repair:
- corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
- Reconnect all BCM connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
- Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
- Yes: CHECK OASIS for any applicable TSBs . If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW TSB instructions. If no TSBs address this concern, INSTALL a new BCM. REFER to Body Control Module (BCM) - without Intelligent Access (IA) or REFER to Body Control Module (BCM) - with Intelligent Access (IA).
- No: The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
