Pinpoint Test

  1. CHECK IF THE HEADLAMPS ARE ON
    1. Ignition ON.
    2. Observe the headlamps.

    Are the headlamps illuminated? 

  2. CHECK THE BCM REAR PARKING LAMP OUTPUT CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
    1. Ignition OFF.
    2. Disconnect: BCM C2280D.
    3. Ignition ON.

    Do the rear parking lamps continue to illuminate? 

    • Yes: REPAIR the circuit.
    • No: GO to .
  3. CHECK THE BCM FRONT PARKING LAMP OUTPUT CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
    1. Ignition OFF.
    2. Disconnect: BCM C2280E.
    3. Ignition ON.

    Do the front parking lamps continue to illuminate? 

    • Yes: REPAIR the circuit.
    • No: GO to .
  4. CHECK FOR CORRECT BCM OPERATION
    1. Disconnect and inspect all BCM connectors.
    2. Repair:
      • corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
      • damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins
      • pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
    3. Reconnect the BCM connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
    4. Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.

    Is the concern still present?
