Pinpoint Test
- CHECK THE A/C
SWITCH STATUS (CC_SW_AC) PID WITH THE A/C
OFF
- Ignition ON.
- Using a scan tool, view FCIM PIDs .
- Monitor the FCIM PID CC_SW_AC.
- Select panel press and release the A/C button (indicator off) on the HVAC controls.
Does the PID read Active when pressed and Inactive when released?
- Yes: GO to 2 .
- No
: INSTALL a new FCIM.
REFER to FRONT CONTROLS INTERFACE MODULE (FCIM) - (Premium),
REFER to FRONT CONTROLS INTERFACE MODULE (FCIM) - (Premium Plus), or
REFER to FRONT CONTROLS INTERFACE MODULE (FCIM) - (Sony® Sound).
- CHECK THE A/C
REQUEST SIGNAL (AC_REQ) PID WITH THE A/C OFF
- Using a scan tool, view PCM PIDs .
- Deactivate the A/C using the HVAC controls.
- Monitor the PCM PID AC_REQ.
Does the PID read OFF?
- Yes: GO to 4.
- No: GO to 3 .
- CHECK FOR CORRECT HVAC MODULE OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect and inspect all HVAC module connectors.
- Repair:
- corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
- Reconnect the HVAC module connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
- Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
- Yes: CHECK OASIS for any applicable TSBs . If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW TSB instructions. If no TSBs address this concern, INSTALL a new HVAC module. REFER to Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) Module .
- No: The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
- CHECK FOR CORRECT PCM OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect and inspect all PCM connectors.
- Repair:
- corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
- Reconnect the PCM connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
- Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
- Yes: CHECK OASIS
for any applicable TSBs
. If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW TSB instructions. If no TSBs
address this concern, INSTALL a new PCM:
REFER to POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) - 2.0L GTDI , or
- No: The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
