Front End Sheet Metal (FESM)

NOTE: Left Hand (LH) side shown, Right Hand (RH) side similar.
  1. Position aside the front portion of the fender splash shield.
  2. Position a floor jack under the Front End Sheet Metal (FESM) and slightly lift to apply pressure to the FESM cage nut.

  3. NOTE: Do not apply heat to the body bolt from the underside of the vehicle or damage to the body insulator may occur.
    NOTE: The purpose for heating is to only loosen the threadlock and sealer on the bolt.

    Using the Mini-Ductor (IDIMD-600) or equivalent, apply heat to the FESM cage nut for 15 seconds.

  4. NOTE: Body bolt installation is addressed in the cab-off procedure. For additional information, refer to BODY - DIESEL .

    Using a suitable tool, hold the cage nut and remove the FESM body bolt with an impact tool.

  5. Install the fender splash shield.
  6. Return to BODY - DIESEL .
